About us

The Modern Village didn’t start as a business idea. It started in my postpartum days, after my second baby — 2 under 2.

It was the middle of the afternoon.
Both girls crying at the same time.
Nap times didn’t work.
Everything felt loud.

I felt like I was coming undone in it.

I remember thinking — I don’t even recognise this version of me.
I’m angry, irritable, and even a little mean.

And then the guilt that followed…
because that’s not the kind of mum I wanted to be.

I was pouring into my girls, my family, everything that needed me —
with nothing left for myself by the end of it.

Running on empty,
and still being needed.

I knew I was still in there somewhere.
I just couldn’t access her when it mattered most.

The Modern Village came from that.

Not from a big plan
but from needing something that actually helped in the moment.

This is for the in-between moments.
The afternoons that feel like they stretch.

When patience wears thin
and you’re still trying your best.

Built by a parent, for parents.
Something to reach for when you need a little more steadiness.

You were never meant to do this alone.
Even if it feels like you are sometimes.
